Dr. M.Chittaranjan, M.Tech, P.hD, HOD-Civil Engineering
Dr. M.Chittaranjan obtained his B.Tech (Civil Engineering) from S.V.U.College of Engineering S.V.University, Tirupati in May 2000, and M.Tech (Geotechnical Engineering) from S.V.University Tirupati in February,2005 and Ph.D from S.V.University Tirupati in Oct 2013. He has qualified Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE). He has 13 years of experience in teaching. He published several research papers in various National and International Journals and conferences. He has also attended several workshops and One day National Seminars.He also, organized several workshops, industrial visits and student symposiums.
To produce globally competitive and committed civil engineers with ethical values to cater to the needs of the society and strive for sustainable development through research and innovation.
“The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering has three tenets that center on the principle of improving lives and livelihoods:
PEO1: Civil Engineering Graduates understand the origin, working principles and outcomes of Civil Engineering and allied projects from parts to whole, in terms of technology, economy, social and environmental aspects.
PEO2: Graduates take up higher education and R & D in Civil Engineering and allied areas of science and technology for the benefit of industry and society.
PEO3: Graduates utilize formal and informal learning opportunities to maintain and enhance technical, personal and professional growth, communicate effectively, exhibit professional leadership, teamwork and ethical values.
PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PSO1: Bridge Design: Able to design and validate the various structural elements of bridges of different dimensions.
PSO2: Application of Concrete Technology: Analyze the causes, preventive and corrective measures of cracks in buildings.
PSO3: STAAD Pro. and Riveting software usage: Expertise in STAAD Pro and Revit software for the design of concrete and steel structures.
